Elizabeth Hamilton, Executive Director

Elizabeth Hamilton, WALC Executive Director, has 15 years of experience in education and non-profit work. She began her career as a Special Education teacher, supporting and teaching students with diverse needs. For the past seven years, Liz has worked in the non-profit world for Young Life Wichita Falls. She helped start Capernaum (a ministry for teenagers with disabilities) right here in Wichita Falls.

With a large family of educators, she believes in the power of knowledge. Learning doesn't have to stop when you become an adult. Receiving an education means transforming lives and ultimately bettering the community!

Carla Smith, Book Room Manager

Carla Smith, the Bookroom Manager, is responsible for managing the donations made to the bookroom, (which becomes the basis of WALC’s largest fundraiser, the Book Fair). She has been with WALC since 2018. She previously managed the Children’s Department at the Plano Barnes & Noble, and over the years also managed a Walden Books and a Borders. Her knowledge of marketing books as well as genres and authors gives her the ability to create a major fundraiser that is professional in presentation and successful in raising funds. She can also tell amazing stories of interactions with famous and infamous authors! You must hear the one about Janet Evanovich, a motorcycle and a white fringe jacket!
